Worker's Compensation Paralegal

Base pay range: $28.72/hr – $37.44/hr

Our Paralegals assist our attorneys with managing billable work, scheduling, file coordination, opening and/or closing files, summarizing documents for review and daily organizational needs relative to our cases in order to allow our attorneys to use their billable time effectively. Our paralegals operate at a high degree of technical proficiency, have a passion for organization and efficiency and are solution-oriented. Candidates should work well both independently and within a team to assist our attorneys in managing the billable work of the firm.

• Drafts various legal documents for attorney review
• Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files
• E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)
• Manages and organizes case files
• Researches and analyzes case data
• Drafts discovery
• Communicates with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel and other experts
• Bills time contemporaneously
• Assists attorneys with case-related requests
  
  Responds to record and legal documentation requests
• Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties
• Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality
• Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP, works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team, is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values
• Other duties as assigned
