Role SummaryThe Superintendent 3 will plan, manage, and execute all aspects of moderately complex projects. Responsibilities include leading construction sequencing, achieving timely and profitable completion, and upholding JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.
Key Role Responsibilities – Core- Lead the company’s safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury‑free environment and mentoring staff.
- Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
- Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and quality, safety, and EEO programs.
- Develop subcontractor and self‑performed work plans.
- Coordinate care, custody, and control of the project site.
- Lead daily stand‑up, weekly trade, and progress meetings.
- Attend and manage project OAC meetings.
- Create, modify, and implement the project schedule with the Project Manager.
- Track and monitor project budget and costs.
- Communicate key project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Maintain project filing, documentation, drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
- Approve or record unit cost information for weekly reports and complete daily reports and tracking.
- Evaluate progress on self‑performed work and adjust as needed.
- Manage material and equipment needs.
- Support MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes.
- Assist selection of formwork, tools, and equipment for self‑performed operations.
- Approve timecards to ensure accurate hours and cost codes.
- Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC standards, and resources.
- Supervise pre‑punch activities and coordinate closeout with owner, architect, and authorities.
- Understand and apply project pursuit methodology.
- Collaborate with field operations leadership to develop pre‑plans.
- Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for the assigned project.
- Identify schedule and cost impacts of project changes with project management.
- Participate in owner and architect negotiations for project changes.
- Prepare and present all project review meetings, including monthly reviews.
- Participate in buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
- Understand contract terms and conditions for the project.
- Recruit top talent.
- Lead and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion and enforce JE Dunn’s non‑discrimination policy.
- Manage moderately complex stand‑alone projects from start to finish.
- Oversee projects with multiple field supervisors.
- Play a lead role in the project pursuit process.
- Collaborate with marketing on presentations and marketing activities.
- Develop new business opportunities and cultivate long‑term client relationships.
- Assume responsibility for management, scheduling, production, safety, and quality of the project or portion of the project.
- Identify and actively manage project risks.
- Apply knowledge to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Manage deliverables from internal functions such as IPS and logistics.
- Accurate, complete, and timely work performance.
