Join the Manhattan Construction Company as an Electrical Safety Manager. In this role you will enforce company safety, health, and environmental policies across construction projects, identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Position SummaryThe Electrical Safety Manager oversees, leads, directs, and enforces safety and work practices on construction projects. Responsibilities include developing safety plans, conducting training, managing investigations, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- All qualities, responsibilities, and requirements of a Safety Manager 1, plus: guidance and mentorship to Safety Manager 1.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation within safety programs.
- Administer job‑site CCIP, OCIP, or other insurance programs.
- Conduct weekly project safety training meetings.
- Supervise safety/first‑aid & rescue activities.
- Conduct incident investigations and reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive safety files and records.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and employees to promote safety culture.
- Advise Senior Safety Manager on compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Coordinate with regional safety personnel on updates and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical skills for hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Advanced computer knowledge.
- Effective teamwork.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Continual training with accredited industry associations (OSHA outreach, CSST, etc.).
- Advanced training in OSHA Focus Four hazards.
- Advanced training in incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
- 4‑year bachelor’s degree or relevant safety experience.
- Board of Certified Safety Professional (STSC) and/or CHST or equivalent.
- 12 years of industry experience.
- First aid & CPR certified instructor.
- Electrical safety experience required.
- Adaptation to all weather conditions; ability to walk, climb, reach, bend, crawl, or stretch on job sites.
- Ability to stand, bend, sit for extended periods, and squat.
- Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and conferences.
- Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails.
- Capacity to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
- Travel may be required—valid driver’s license needed.
