About

The Role

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the facility. This position reports to the Operations Manager and tasks the supervisor with organizing and coordinating day‑to‑day operations, setting priorities for work and projects, assisting with outage planning and scheduling, providing technical guidance, supervising and training shift supervisors, and ensuring availability of qualified personnel for daily and emergency operations.

Responsibilities
  • Tour all areas of the plant and oversee the safety of all activities of the assigned operating staff and contractors.
  • During emergency or unusual situations, direct or if necessary personally perform required operations or corrective actions and coordinate the activities of all personnel involved.
  • Act as a relief Shift Supervisor when necessary.
  • Maintain and update the training program, SOPs, and operator logs.
  • Prioritize and complete CMMS preventive maintenance work orders and assignments.
  • Conduct daily meetings with shift supervisors.
  • Manage receipt of waste and day‑to‑day activities in the tipping floor area of the facility.
  • Oversee the water analysis of the facility.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors when necessary.
  • Serve as emergency coordinator in the absence of the Facility/Department Managers.
  • Stand in for the Operations Manager in his/her absence.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations, including hands‑on and/or supervisory experience with high‑pressure boilers and electric generation equipment.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • ASME QRO Site Specific Operator Certification (License).
Physical Demands Of

The Role
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
  • Qualification to wear a full‑face respirator.
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions.
Shift
  • Monday through Friday days, some evenings, and weekends.
