This role is responsible for performing basic Inventory, Warehouse and Delivery activities, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of aerospace components, materials, tooling and documentation between manufacturing facilities, suppliers, UPS/FedEX, and customers. Implementing best practices to meet quality and safety standards to support the organization’s manufacturing process.
This position will play a crucial role in the production process and contribute to the company’s overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA). We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem‑solvers who are relentlessly committed to delivering excellence in aerospace manufacturing.
Essential Functions Warehouse and Inventory- Receipt and Issue – ensure timely receipt of incoming materials/parts, verification of quantities and quality, and efficient issuing of outgoing materials/orders to meet production schedules.
- Examine shipments for discrepancies in quantity, condition and description, report to supervisor if inconsistencies are found.
- Verify Heat Lot certification and print heat certifications when receiving and when pulling material.
- Perform Cycle Counting to verify inventory calculations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and resolve discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
- Quality Control – maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and the condition of stored materials.
- Document and report – ensure accurate documentation of inventory transactions, generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and performance metrics as required; all data entered into ERP system.
- Communicate and coordinate closely with other departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to ensure coordination of organizational activities.
- Fill internal Job Routers in a timely manner.
- Maintain department appearance, including housekeeping and organization.
- Good organization, prioritization, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Function as a team member and under minimal supervision.
- Cross‑train with other positions in Logistics.
- Store and track shop tooling.
- Deliver material and tooling to shops, making inventory corrections as needed.
- Set up and operate the cutting of sheet metal to engineering specification on a router.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming material, parts, tooling verifying purchase order as required.
- Pack, ship or deliver product and tooling to suppliers, customers, other Pryer facilities.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, bill of lading, and chain‑of‑custody protocols.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Vehicle – maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle(s).
- Load and unload products using proper handling techniques to prevent damage to sensitive or high‑value material, parts, and tooling.
- Safely operate company vehicles (including forklifts) to transport material, parts, tooling, to and from designated locations.
Education
- High School diploma or GED required.
Experience
- 0-2 years warehouse experience, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- 0-2 years experience driving trucks, vans (manual and automatic transmissions).
- 0-2 years experience working with purchase orders and routers (job travelers).
- Organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
Computer Skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP and Material Management Systems.
