Overview
This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering requirements, work orders, prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information to manufacture to quality requirements, parts and assemblies.
- Setup and perform all manual assembly operations and related machine functions required to accomplish assignments.
- Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish tasks.
- Assemble and mate structural parts and assemblies by drilling, routing, reaming, countersinking, spotfacing, counterboring and installing fasteners utilizing hand-powered tools.
- Qualified candidate will need to successfully pass a skills demonstration.
- Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
- Verify work performed is per work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specification. Identify discrepancies found per applicable procedure.
- Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
- Perform work within allotted schedules.
- Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees at all classification levels.
Qualifications
Required:
- All candidates must pass The Work Keys Assessment () or provide verification that they have passed The Work Keys Assessment. Delay in completing your Work Keys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.
- All candidates must be able to work any shift.
- This is a union-represented position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing/production setting
- Background in aerospace/aviation
- Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Pay
$13.00/hour, with potential to earn up to $26.88/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
