Grinder

Will train on 1st shift M-F 7:30am-4pm, then move to 3rd shift M-F 11pm-7:30am

Level one bench grinders/deburr operators perform finishing tasks on complex machined aerospace parts using a variety of tools. These individuals work under direct supervision to perform basic deburr operations such as edge breaking and simple surface finishing tasks. They will work with basic deburr tools. They will also work with pneumatic tools and use deburr pads to hand finish surfaces on parts.

These individuals should be able to interpret and follow work instructions including work orders and travelers. After training, these employees will also be expected to complete shop transactions in the ERP system.

• Perform basic deburr operations on machined parts
• Utilize deburr tools and hand finishing techniques to work on machined parts
• Interpret and follow work orders and track necessary transactions in the ERP system
• Other duties are to be assigned based on business needs

• The ability to read and write English.
• An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
• A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
• A basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical application regarding nuts and bolts.
• A basic knowledge of part holding methods and procedures.
• A basic knowledge of deburr tools and methods.
• The ability to interact with computers and CNC controls at a basic level.

• This position requires basic experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as saws, drills and pneumatic tools.
• 1-3 years of experience

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
