Welding Pipe

Big Elk Energy Systems is seeking experienced Pipe Welders skilled in Subarc, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes to support our fabrication team. Candidates must be able to pass performance tests to API 1104 and ASME IX standards, including welding 12” pipe in 6G position, branch tests, and 2” super coupons. The role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Pipe welders should have a minimum of three years of professional welding experience, the ability to lift 50 lbs., and be comfortable spending extended periods on their feet in both indoor and outdoor shop environments.

Subarc Welder (API 1104 and ASME IX)

Hand Welder API 1104

Ability to pass a GMAW/ SMAW test on 12” pipe in 6G Position and Branch Test on 12” Pipe (GMAW Root Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap)

Ability to pass a GTAW/ SMAW test on 12” pipe in 6G Position and Branch Test on 12” Pipe (GMAW Root Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap)

Hand Welder ASME IX

Ability to pass a GMAW/ SMAW test on 12” Sch 80 pipe or a 2” Super Coupon in 6G Position (GMAW Root Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap)

Ability to pass a GTAW/ SMAW test on 12” Sch 80 pipe or a 2” Super Coupon in 6G Position (GTAW Root Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap)

Ability to pass a GMAW/ FCAW test on 2” Super Coupon in 6G Position (GMAW Root Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap)

Able to lift 50 lbs. and spend significant time on your feet
