The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non‑profit, faith‑based organization, is looking for a Youth Development Professional for our North Mabee Red Shield Youth Center, located in North Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Job SummaryPlans, implements, supervises members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Red Shield Youth Center priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e., Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In the absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations.
Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Youth Center members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
- Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

- Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
- Ability to support and coordinate activities and events.
- Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups.
- Ability to schedule meetings.
- Ability to interact with co‑workers, volunteers, and the public in a positive, professional manner.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
- Ability to operate and generally maintain all office equipment, including but not limited to the copier and fax machine.
- Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.
- Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II & Level III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Red Shield Youth Center of America Spillett Training.
- Valid DL (if possible).
- Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures.
- Ability to multi‑task, follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manner.
- Ability to interact with co‑workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.
- Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or noise, dust, dirt and the like.
