The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) regularly assists campaigns and state parties by collecting applications for roles involved in Senate races. Any potential roles are with state parties or campaigns, not the DSCC. Campaigns and parties are responsible for all hiring decisions for campaign and party positions, and will determine salary and specific job duties.
Voter Access Directors will be key to fighting Republican voter suppression efforts, expanding turnout, and ensuring every eligible voter has their ballot counted. They should be savvy political and organizing minds who can engage stakeholders and recruit volunteers to support programs that move officials towards policies that facilitate voting. Voter Access Directors will be responsible for hiring and managing teams to oversee programs, work closely with other departments, and implement programming to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Coordinated Campaign Director, Senate Campaign Manager, and the DSCC to identify strategies to advocate for policies that facilitate voting.
- Lead election administration engagement and other voter access programs in their states.
- Set strategic objectives for programs and metric goals to achieve those objectives; hold staff and self accountable to meeting those goals.
- Hire and manage Voter Access department staff, if applicable.
- Collaborate with Organizing, Data, and Operations departments to effectively implement programs.
- Multiple cycles of campaign experience in a political or organizing role, or similar experience at an advocacy organization, nonprofit, or consulting firm.
- Experience managing external relationships with stakeholders of different levels.
- Experience and desire to manage staff.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; especially as applied to building a strong, inclusive management culture that supports staff development.
- Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of our organization.
- Fluency with Voter Access tools, such as LBJ and VAN, preferred.
