American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night-shift position requiring prior charge experience and a valid OK or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-07:00), 36 hours/week
- Weekend shifts required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs
- Valid OK or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Travel experience preferred, though candidates with similar ED experience will be considered
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, trauma, and cardiac monitoring scenarios
- Experience managing dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and performing 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Skilled in orthopedic splinting and ortho trauma care
- Provide comprehensive emergency care in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Manage shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Responsible for identifying and reporting suspected neglect or abuse
- Care for patients presenting with acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, and other behavioral health emergencies
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage arterial and central lines as needed
- Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, and airway management
- Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
