American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a general surgical unit requiring 2+ years of experience and an OK or compact RN license.

• General surgical adult population unit with telemetry capability
• 28-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if the department has a need

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Current license and primary source verification (Nursys) required within 30 days prior to start

• Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
• Requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow standard precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate under facility radius rule
• Radius distance varies by state
• First-time travelers may be considered
