American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a general surgical unit requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.
Details- Work on a 28-bed general surgical adult unit with telemetry capability
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
- Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
- Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
- Holiday coverage required as departmental need arises
- 13-week assignment
- Active RN license (Compact or OK state-specific) required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must have a US Social Security Number and a US home address
- Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
- Coordinate care across disciplines and carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Work independently using critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
- Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates
- Candidates should begin discussing extension opportunities with management approximately 45 days before assignment end date
