American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a General Surgical Med/Surg unit requiring at least 2 years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.

• 28-bed general surgical adult unit with telemetry capability
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling period
• Holiday coverage required if the department has a need

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications preferred
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

• Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Coordinate care across disciplines and communicate patient condition changes
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
• Radius rules apply, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
• Candidates should begin discussing extension opportunities with their manager 45 days prior to assignment end date
