American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level I trauma center requiring 2+ years of experience and an OK or compact RN license.

• 29-bed medical surgical unit caring for all patient ages, including some telemetry orders
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Level I trauma center
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

• Active OK or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide US Social Security Number and US home address

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient condition as appropriate
• Coordinate care across disciplines and serve as primary point of contact for the care team
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
