What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Inspections confirm property occupancy, assess general condition with a mobile app, and may capture interior photos if the property has become vacant. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos.
Responsibilities- Complete most inspections within 5‑6 minutes.
- Submit inspections within 4 days of assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy.
- Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Spend extended periods driving and making multiple stops in the assigned territory.
- Computer with internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus as you pay your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate; rates vary by county and volume. Per‑inspection pay equates to roughly $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on county (urban or rural), complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates, higher‑volume counties have lower rates. No set minimum inspections; work remains consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established, increase availability, or cover larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond flat fee per inspection.
