About the Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LI )
The Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LI ) is an independent, philanthropically supported research institute located on the campus of the Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital (LPCH) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the past decade, LI has built a nationally recognized interdisciplinary program that leverages advanced neuroscience, multimodal neuroimaging, and large-scale electronic health record (EHR) data to identify new mechanisms, diagnostic tools, and treatment strategies for psychiatric disorders.
Our investigators lead multiple NIH-funded projects, including R01s and a Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) award, supporting research in mood, anxiety, eating, and substance use disorders, computational psychiatry, and precision neuroimaging. LI is also launching a major new Bipolar Research Initiative, integrating clinical, neurobiological, and EHR-based phenotyping to accelerate discovery. We maintain close collaborations with the University of Tulsa and OU–Tulsa, fostering a rapidly growing academic community in the region.
