Salary Grade: Hourly 8 ($14.29 - $17.99/hr)

Tulsa Public Schools’ existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. This position will assist the school cafeteria team in the processes necessary to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to TPS students; focusing primarily on the quality and quantity of food production of menu items and may assist the Assistant Cafeteria Manager or Cafeteria Manager in completion of records and other administrative tasks.

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent food handlers experience in lieu of education
• Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Must possess or be willing to obtain a current Food Handler’s Permit issued via the Tulsa City/County Health Department

• One (1) year proven experience in working in a kitchen setting with the ability to follow recipes for all menu items and support the process of preparing menu items to meet service/mealtimes
• Previous experience in a school cafeteria

• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
• The incumbent must be able to complete a Work-Based Math Test and obtain a minimum score of 75%

• Be able to lift, pull, or push up to up 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time

• Proficient in Spanish is a plus
• Must have access to reliable transportation to and from district sites
