Responsibilities and Duties

Each store manager is responsible for all day to day activities within their store. Store managers are required to work at least 45 hours per week and must be Serv Safe certified. Store Managers may be required to travel for training and might be asked to work in other stores from time to time. Store Managers shall take full ownership in the operation of their store and ensure that the store presents a fun and friendly environment for employees and customers.

They are responsible for the efficient operation of the store and must effectively manage the following :

  • Leadership – Store Managers must always lead by example. Employees will never be asked to perform tasks that the Store Manager does not perform his / herself.
  • Sales – Store Managers shall actively drive sales by encouraging and guiding assistant managers and crew members. Store Managers need to be upbeat and encouraging and have the ability to motivate their crews to achieve sales goals.
  • Marketing – Store Managers must be able to engage the local community and drive direct marketing efforts
  • Customer Service – Our customers are the reason we exist and what keeps us in business. Our goal is to provide each and every customer with exceptional customer service and to meet all of their needs and expectations in a friendly and outgoing manner. Our customers should never settle for an ordinary or routine experience.
  • Product Quality – Store Managers must ensure that our products exceed customer expectations and the guidelines set by Jersey Mike's.
  • Personnel Management – Store Managers are responsible for hiring and developing crews with the highest standards possible. All employees should be held accountable for their duties and responsibilities by the Store Manager.
  • Training - Managers must ensure that new and existing employees receive complete and proper training before giving them new responsibilities. Employees must be trained for success. All employees must be trained on HCAAP procedures and training and reporting must be followed at all times.
  • Cash Management - It is the sole responsibility of Store Managers to monitor, report and correct all cash handling procedures in their store. Repeat issues with employees should be dealt with swiftly. Deposits must be made in accordance company policy.
  • Store Presentation – Store Managers must maintain sparkling clean and orderly stores. Under no condition should be store be left at night with incomplete cleaning. All checklists must be completed properly and on-time. Employees should be in proper uniform at all times. All marketing materials should be displayed in accordance with national marketing campaigns.
  • Inventory / COGS control – Store Managers are responsible for controlling cost of goods and ensuring that crews do not give away food to family and friends and that they do not abuse meal plan benefits. Inventories are to be taken and reported weekly.
  • Scheduling – Store Managers are responsible for generating and managing schedules for their store. Scheduling should be in line with labor guidelines on number of hours scheduled. Breaks should also be managed appropriately.
  • Maintenance – Store Managers must maintain equipment maintenance checklists and ensure that preventative maintenance items are taken care of regularly.
