Job Title: Service Technician – Boiler Experience
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Opportunity

The Service Technician – Boiler Experience will perform boiler inspections, maintenance, and preventative repairs on commercial equipment. The ideal candidate is customer‑service oriented, works well with others, and maintains strong communication with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and customers.

Primary Focus
  • Provide a variety of preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections on boilers and other HVAC equipment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections and maintenance to ensure peak performance.
  • Execute specific preventative maintenance, including cleaning of equipment.
  • Use technical skills to determine service requirements for preventive maintenance and system operations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors, and owners.
  • Advise owners/representatives on preventive maintenance inspections and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Suggest additional services that benefit the customer.
  • Work in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Submit required paperwork to the Service Coordinator daily.
  • Work safely on a daily basis and ensure all safety measures are taken at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends as required.
Education & Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • 4+ years’ boiler maintenance and repair experience in a commercial environment (preferred).
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with handheld computer (Smartphone, iPad).
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms, noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, electrical shock (high voltage), and elevated heights.
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple varied duties.
Other Skills/Abilities

Language skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Mathematical skills:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning skills:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; prioritize multiple tasks.

Physical Demands

Regularly use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms; stand, walk, and sit frequently; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
