Maintenance Technician

Summary

The Victory Maintenance Technician is responsible for any/all service requests including items involving misc. handyman items, light plumbing, light construction, maintenance on the facilities and other related duties requiring a skilled maintenance technician. This position reports to the Facilities Director and requires attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.

Non-Exempt

• General maintenance in construction, plumbing, drywall, etc.
• Stay within compliance with Life Safety regulations.
• Check building maintenance requests/tasks daily
• Update and respond to each request status
• Prioritize maintenance requests by immediate need
• Complete each task to the best of your ability but advise when a maintenance repair needs to be outsourced
• Be available to coordinate with professional maintenance companies.
• Be available for maintenance-related emergencies
• Store and replenish all maintenance supplies in an approved area
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image.
• Native English speaker (or) capacity to successfully pass a TOEFL Exam with instructional proficiency.
• Knowledge of skilled handyman, maintenance technician tasks including: general construction, drywall, paint, etc.
• Physical ability to lift/carry/operate equipment and supplies is necessary.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and navigating tight spaces and heights;
• Sighted with capacity for both color and distance;
• Must be able to work safely with tools, climb ladders, and lift objects > 50 lbs;
• Speaking and oral communications.
