Job Summary

Safety is first and foremost. This position will coordinate with Foreman; procure resources, material, tools and documents required for the assigned project. Utilize the most cost effective and efficient means available to produce a safe and profitable project. Everything you say and do reflects the values of each member of the Morley Moss family. Performs all electrical tasks with general supervision, possesses journeyman license, can read blueprints, terminate cable, install and troubleshoot control wiring from drawings, is able to demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper, and must be sufficient on rough‑in work.

A Journeyman would normally have this classification for the first year and then be considered for potential field leadership roles as they become available.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Installing buss feeders
  • Wire and conduit sizing
  • Switchgear installation and termination
  • Layout and preparation for installation
  • Underground layout and rough‑in
  • Troubleshooting Motors and controls

Qualifications
  • 5 years of JATC training or Equivalent Training
  • Have a minimum of an active JIW license in the state of Oklahoma
  • Meet all established criteria
Physical Demands

A Journeyman Electrician needs to be able to move freely and comfortably in various positions, including bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and working overhead or in confined spaces, with the ability to be able to identify and voice hazards, so that the corrections and precautionary measures can be made to avoid poor ergonomics, or any type of incidents. This role involves a significant amount of physical activity and requires a good range of motion to effectively and safely perform job duties.

Upper

Extremities
  • Reaching:
    Extending hands and arms in any direction to access wiring, fixtures, and components in various locations.
  • Grasping/Manipulating:
    Using hands and wrists for repetitive actions like grasping and manipulating tools and wiring. This includes working with hand tools (up to 25 pounds) in various positions, including above and below the head.
  • Lifting/Carrying:
    Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds, including tools and equipment, and pushing/pulling up to 160 pounds. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
Lower Extremities and Trunk
  • Operate two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.
