Goldenrod Services is seeking a Facilities Engineer Apprentice to support our Warren Place properties in Tulsa, OK. This role is ideal for someone with general maintenance or trade experience who is eager to grow their skill set and build a long-term career in facilities engineering.
The Apprentice will participate in our formal Apprenticeship Program, designed to develop technical expertise, operational knowledge, and a strong foundation for advancement within our organization. This position reports to the Facilities Engineering leadership team.
Primary Job FunctionsThe Facilities Engineer Apprentice is responsible for performing routine maintenance and supporting operational needs across the Warren Place commercial office towers. This includes troubleshooting building systems, assisting with repairs, completing routine inspections, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for tenants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and testing of building systems and equipment.
- Assist with maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trade categories including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and life-safety systems.
- Support the Facilities Engineering team in scheduling, communication, and coordination with other departments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to tenants and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Participate actively in the Goldenrod Apprenticeship Program as part of ongoing professional development.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn building management software.
- Perform light plumbing duties: replacing fixtures (toilets, sinks, faucets), clearing clogs, replacing drain lines, re-caulking, and reading/documenting water meters.
- Perform light HVAC tasks: changing filters, cleaning condensing units and coils, understanding equipment error codes, and documenting work performed.
- Perform light electrical work: replacing bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures; resetting breakers; reading/documenting electrical meters.
- Perform light to medium carpentry tasks, including replacing door and cabinetry hardware.
- Conduct testing of fire pumps and life-safety equipment per established procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience in the following areas is beneficial but not required:
- Electrical or HVAC trades
- Plumbing
- Trade service industry background
- Installation or programming of HVAC or lighting controls
- Safety certifications
