Overview
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is looking for a Lifeguard – Pool Operator for our North Mabee Youth Center located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Job SummaryServe as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities. Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water, tests pool’s water pH level, chlorine level and bromine level.
Responsibilities- Provide constant surveillance of pool activities and enforce all swimming pool rules.
- Maintain cleanliness of pool water and monitor chemical levels (pH, chlorine, bromine).
- Respond to emergencies and perform lifesaving techniques as needed.
- Prepare and maintain up-to-date pool records.
- Knowledge of lifesaving techniques and ability to perform them in emergency situations.
- Ability to supervise swimmers and respond to emergencies to ensure swimmer safety.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to swim and perform lifesaving activities.
- Knowledge of proper pool management.
- Ability to test and adjust pool water to ensure proper chemical balance and swimmer safety.
Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard AND Six months experience as a lifeguard OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications- Red Cross Certified Lifeguard
- Certified Pool Operator
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, heat, humidity and the like.
