Shipping Clerk

Description

• Receive incoming materials, parts, and equipment from carriers and suppliers.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documents.
• Inspect incoming materials for shortages, damage, and quality concerns.
• Accurately enter receiving transactions into the company ERP system.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality departments regarding discrepancies.
• Label and properly store received inventory in designated locations.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.

• Prepare outbound shipments according to customer requirements and company procedures.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation before shipment.
• Package products to ensure safe transportation and delivery.
• Generate bills of lading, shipping labels, packing lists, and carrier documentation.
• Coordinate shipment scheduling with carriers, freight brokers, and customers.
• Load trucks and secure shipments in accordance with safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and tracking information.

• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material transactions.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
• Organize warehouse locations and maintain material identification.
• Support production with timely material delivery and movement.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged materials.
• Assist with warehouse housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
• Report safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues promptly.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, packing slips, and purchase orders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of freight classifications, transportation practices, and shipping documentation.
• Experience with LTL, full truckload, and international shipments.
• Familiarity with inventory control and warehouse best practices.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
