Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs of cast-in-place concrete structures—mat foundations, walls, elevated slabs, columns, beams, channels, and equipment pads for treatment plants, basins, tanks, pump stations, and vaults.
- Build self-perform concrete estimates from the crew up: formwork contact area, form systems, cycles and reuse; reinforcing; embeds and waterstop; placement and pumping; finishing, curing, and joint work.
- Develop crew sizes, labor productions, and pour sequences; price equipment, form rental or purchase, ready-mix supply, and pumping.
- Carry the cost of liquid-containing structure requirements, including waterstop, joint sealants, leakage testing, crack repair, and coating surface preparation.
- Review Division 03 specifications for mix design, testing, special inspection, hot and cold weather, finish, and tolerance requirements; capture cost impacts and clear assumptions.
- Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing for rebar fabrication and placement, ready-mix, pumping, post-tensioning, precast, shotcrete, and testing; confirm scope alignment.
- Identify risks and opportunities, including access and crane reach, pour breaks, dewatering interfaces, winter concrete, schedule constraints, and design ambiguities; prepare RFIs during bid.
- Maintain a concrete cost and productivity database; track estimate performance against job cost results and field feedback.
- Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings; support the bid-to-execution transition, budgeting, and buyout.
- Lead complete bids as lead estimator: bid schedule, scope assignments, bid forms, addenda, and proposal compliance.
- Estimate additional self-perform scopes such as earthwork, yard piping, process mechanical, and site utilities.
- Develop general conditions, markups, and bid-day strategy with leadership.
- Mentor junior estimators and share concrete estimating best practices across offices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of concrete estimating…
