The Bloom Work-Based Learning Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to second-year Bloom Academy students, with a focus on work-readiness, career exploration, and independent living skills. The instructor will serve as a bridge between classroom learning and real-world employment experiences, preparing students to transition successfully into the workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging instruction in work-readiness, career exploration, and independent living skills, tailored to neurodivergent and special needs learners.
- Coordinate and supervise student participation in job shadowing, internships, community-based work experiences, and on-campus employment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and agencies to expand inclusive work-based learning opportunities.
- Provide on-site job coaching and individualized support to students in workplace settings, gradually fading assistance to promote independence.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, case managers, and employers to share updates on student progress, strengths, and growth areas.
- Assess and document student progress in both classroom and workplace environments, making recommendations for further development.
- Collaborate with the Bloom Program Coordinator and other staff to ensure program alignment and student success.
- Position requires flexibility between classroom-based instruction, community job sites, and on-campus employment settings.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support student work experience or employer partnerships.
