Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology.
  • Three years of teaching experience.

  • Five years of teaching experience.
Job Description
  • Plan, organize, and instruct courses assigned, devoting the instructor's best professional effort to this primary task.
  • Review course objectives periodically and instructional strategies to meet those objectives.
  • Prepare and distribute a current course syllabus as required by college policy.
  • Participate in the selection of textbooks and submit requests for textbooks and other material needed for instruction.
  • Maintain and accurately complete records as required.
  • Arrive at the classroom sufficiently in advance of classes to adequately prepare instructional space and material for organized instruction.
  • Counsel and advise students regarding up-to-date academic matters, college services and matters relating to student success.
  • Schedule and maintain office hours in accordance with college policy.
  • Attend staff meetings, serve on committees and participate in other college activities.
  • Maintain professional growth and development to foster and create scholarly production according to college and personal needs.
  • Maintain professional working relationship with students, fellow faculty members, administration and staff, adhering to the highest standards of respect for the rights of others.
  • Be available to sponsor student academic-related activities (e.g., clubs, organizations, events, etc.).
  • Participate in community and professional service activities and serve in selected activities as the need arises.
  • Perform other functions consistent with the position as requested by the Dean of Academic Instruction and/or the respective division chair.
