- Leads group activities as assigned by the Activity Coordinator.
- Provides one-to-one activities to those who cannot be in a group setting.
- Assists in planning Activity Program through Resident’s Council and Activity Coordinator.
- Maintains attendance sheets on participants.
- Assists residents to and from activities.
- Communicates status of residents to Activity Coordinator.
- May attend interdisciplinary care plan team meetings and document on care plan and in-progress notes.
- May make arrangements for movies, live entertainment for special programs, and group outings such as picnics, ball games or sightseeing.
- Assigns duties and delegates responsibilities to volunteers.
- Access to protected health information in the resident’s financial and medical records to conduct job duties.
- Experience in long term care required; preferred in recreational setting.
- An interest in people; ability to communicate ideas and instruct residents and communicate with them appropriately.
- Ability to direct and perform a variety of activities and to respond to varied needs of residents.
- Able to motivate residents and promote their well being through direct activities.
- Ability to interpret feelings, ideas, or facts in terms of personal viewpoint.
- Must be able to evaluate resident’s progress and accurately report to Activities Coordinator.
- Imagination and creativity are necessary.
