POSITIONSUMMARY
This role encompasses both strategic and tactical (i.e. hands‑on) responsibilities. It requires a broad knowledge of all aspects of IT including Operations and Networking. The ideal person is analytical, strategic and has strong communication skills. Prior experience with premise‑based servers and cloud applications is required. The ability to plan and execute projects within time and budget constraints is a must. The IT Manager is responsible for acquisition, operation, integration and problem‑solving of both hardware and software systems in a multisite organization and is the final point for troubleshooting IT issues for the business.
The role partners with the CFO to maintain our technology roadmap and set information technology strategies for critical areas including data security, disaster recovery/business resumption, server management, data warehouse utilization, ERP Cloud management, reporting and AI tools, hardware lifecycle management, and assessing new solutions for employee and consumer facing technologies and telecommunications. The IT Manager supervises the IT staff, systems and networks across the business and maintains network infrastructure, system backup, IT security, Group Policies, upgrade strategies and more.
The position also supports the Help Desk Technician with end‑user support, account maintenance and system configuration. The role is very hands‑on and requires active participation and leadership in all IT functions.
- Oversee Helpdesk Support Technician and provide 2nd and 3rd level support as required.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Deliver the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies.
- Improve and maintain enterprise quality security protocols of all points of entry to Exxel infrastructure.
- Responsible for all web administration tasks, web domain management and secure web access.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
- Handle procurement purchases and recurring infrastructure costs.
- Assume on‑call and off‑hour shift responsibilities.
- Maintain internal shared documentation on infrastructure layout, processes and all pertinent infrastructure information.
- Work as a liaison for the business as the technical lead for relationships, contract negotiation, renewal and compliance, and collaborate with third‑party providers on IT projects.
- Manage financial aspects for IT, including purchasing, budgeting and cost‑saving strategies.
- Maintain all corporate IT assets, physical and virtual, domains, infrastructure, telecommunications and technology needs.
- Work cross‑functionally to meet strategic IT requirements for business initiatives and KPIs.
- Lead technological projects related to potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Be the onsite technical expert on all internal business intelligence and consumer‑facing technologies such as EDI, e‑commerce, WMS and vendor/direct‑to‑consumer initiatives.
- Maintain PCI compliance by implementing PCI DSS throughout system infrastructure.
- Provide Windows and Azure AD management.
- Leverage the strengths and perspectives of others within the organization to reach solutions.
- Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects successfully.
- Possess Amazon Cloud experience as a plus.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, benchmarking state‑of‑the‑art practices, and participating in professional societies.
