Position Title:

Assistant Dean of Assessment
Overview
Larkin University College of Pharmacy (LUCOP) seeks an Assistant Dean of Assessment to lead college-wide assessment initiatives, strengthening student learning evaluation, curricular effectiveness, program outcomes, and stakeholder feedback. This leadership role will translate evidence into improvements, support an evidence-informed decision‑making culture, and advance accreditation readiness and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and maintain a comprehensive assessment plan aligned with accreditation standards (ACPE, university, state, or regional) and the college strategic plan.
Coordinate the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of assessment data to guide continuous improvement, student support, and college decision‑making.
Design, implement, and refine assessment tools—including surveys, examinations, rubrics, and other outcome measures—ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Use assessment findings to identify strengths, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement in curriculum, program delivery, services, and operations.
Maintain organized records, dashboards, and a database of assessment results for timely stakeholder use.
Support ACPE‑related reporting, accreditation self‑studies, site visits, and related documentation in collaboration with the Dean and college leadership.
Provide guidance and professional development for faculty and staff on assessment practices, data use, and continuous quality improvement.
Remain engaged with current practices in pharmacy education assessment, program evaluation, and educational quality improvement.
Facilitate discussion and planning sessions with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making.
Represent the College of Pharmacy on institutional committees related to assessment and accreditation.
Contribute to teaching, scholarship, service, and other academic activities in the college.
Perform other duties as requested by the Dean of the College.

Qualifications and Experience

Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, EdD, or equivalent).
Experience or demonstrated engagement in assessment, educational evaluation, or assessment methods within pharmacy or closely related health sciences settings.
Knowledge of assessment design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting for academic programs.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build consensus and collaborate across faculty, staff, administrators, and committees.
Knowledge of programmatic accreditation expectations related to assessment and reporting (e.g., ACPE).
Strong organization, project management, time management, and follow‑through across assessment initiatives.
Familiarity with survey platforms (Qualtrics), statistical tools (SPSS, SAS, or R), and data visualization platforms (Tableau or Power BI) is desirable.
Demonstrated collegiality and commitment to a positive college culture.
