Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH). Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for Senior Technician Test & Characterization Engineering. In this position, you will join the R&D laboratory team to support power semiconductor characterization by maintaining and calibrating measurement equipment, troubleshooting test systems, and contributing to the development and refinement of laboratory instrumentation as needed.
Job Location
Vishay Semiconductor Italiana spa – site focused on the design, development, and production of power diodes and power modules. About 300 employees currently work in Borgaro Torinese, Italy, with constant growth.
Work location:
Vishay Laboratory inside Politecnico di Torino.
What You Will Be Doing
Manage hardware and software of electronic measurement instruments, including drafting technical manuals, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures, as well as supporting adaptations and set‑ups to meet lab needs.
Diagnose anomalies and failures on testers and related electronic boards, performing advanced fault analysis and hardware repair, and implementing small improvements or adjustments where appropriate.
Perform periodic calibrations and maintenance activities on measurement instruments, defining calibration methods and procedures to be applied, and contributing to the continuous refinement of lab equipment and related fixtures.
What You Will Bring Along
Technical diploma (Perito tecnico Elettronico) or equivalent.
Experience:
5+ years in the electrotechnical field with measurement equipment and test instrumentation.
Good hardware failure diagnostics: systematic use of oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, bench power supplies, etc.; ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Soldering and replacement of electronic components.
Good knowledge and application of electrical safety standards on test instruments.
Good knowledge of metrology principles and hands‑on experience with calibration activities (planning, execution, and documentation) for measurement equipment.
Test automation software development using LabVIEW and CAD‑related board design software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email.
Technical English for reading and understanding documentation and communicating with suppliers.
Team working skills and effective collaboration with colleagues.
Ability to learn quickly and flexibility to adapt to evolving procedures, tools, and technologies.
