We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist. This is a hands‑on implementation role within a small, senior data governance team at a major OEM, embedding governance into the tools, processes, and daily practices that keep connected‑vehicle data compliant, secure, and traceable.

Responsibilities:

Implement and operationalize data governance policies, standards, and procedures across data domains
Onboard data producers and consumers to governance processes - use case declaration (CbD workflow), data stewardship model, metadata standards
Maintain and evolve the data governance framework in Collibra (or equivalent catalogue tool) - business glossary, data ownership assignments, policy documentation
Support deployment of the data stewardship model - identify domain data owners, run onboarding sessions, track stewardship coverage
Coordinate with Legal & Compliance and Privacy/DPO teams to translate regulatory requirements (GDPR, Data Act, AI Act) into actionable governance rules
Monitor governance KPIs - stewardship coverage, use case registration rate, PDT compliance rate and report on progress
Contribute to the Data Dictionary and Data Sharing Playbook initiatives as a key implementer
Act as a governance advisor and point of contact for operational teams needing guidance on data usage, classification, or compliance

Qualifications:

5 to 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a closely related field
Hands‑on experience implementing data governance frameworks in a large, complex organization
Familiarity with data catalogue tools - Collibra, Alation, or equivalent
Good working knowledge of GDPR, Data Act, and data compliance requirements and their practical implications
Strong ability to translate policy into operational practice - bridging strategy and day‑to‑day execution
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - ability to drive adoption without authority
Experience working in agile, cross‑functional environments

Nice to have:

Databricks or cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), automotive/connected vehicle/IoT data experience, knowledge of data stewardship models, and understanding of metadata standards
