Position Description

The Department of Architecture at Bilkent University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Architecture, with a preferred research and teaching focus on building science, structural systems, sustainability, acoustics, and building materials.

Applicants should demonstrate an active record of research and publication, as well as a clear commitment to developing a strong scholarly agenda.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching a 3–3 load each semester, typically consisting of one design studio (counting as two courses) and one lecture/seminar course.
• Advising undergraduate (B.Arch) and graduate (M.Sc.) students.
• Contributing to the intellectual life through core courses, electives, and graduate seminars.
• Developing a substantial and sustainable research program.
• Promoting collegiality, equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in building science or a closely related discipline by September 1, 2026 (ABD candidates considered if Ph.D. completed before then).
• Strong record of publication and evidence of a sustainable research program.
• Experience with undergraduate and graduate education, including design studios, lecture courses, and seminars.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
