Backend Developer

• Support the ongoing development of Horizon, Lely’s farm management solution, deployed to tens of thousands of dairy farms globally.
• Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of dairy farm business processes.
• Implement new features and maintain the existing code base.
• Improve the overall architecture of the Horizon application, for example, through modularization.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement performance improvements.
• Guarantee high code quality, for example, by performing code reviews and implementing unit tests.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
• Participate in detailed project planning and design reviews.
• Translate functional requirements into technical requirements.
• Identify and disseminate “best practices” in the development and maintenance of applications and systems.
• Write technical documentation on implemented features and APIs.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3years of experience in Backend Engineering.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills (C1) in English, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Open to learning new technologies.
• Proficient inC#, ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework, and .NETCore.
• Experience working with RDBMS and No
  
  SQL databases.
• Excellent knowledge ofRESTful API development.
• Familiarity with source control tools (Git).
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in Agile Scrum software development processes.
• Experience with unit testing.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with message brokers (Rabbit
  
  MQ or Azure Service Bus) is a plus.
• Cloud computing experience is a plus (Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops is a plus.
• Experience developing microservices is a plus.
• Experience in low-level network development is a plus.
