POSITION:
FULL TIME LECTURER IN THE SCHOOL OF NURSING:
The School of Nursing invites applications for a temporary lecturer appointment. Candidates selected will teach 30 units each academic year. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.
- MSc in Nursing.
- Experience in one of the BRN faculty approved areas (pediatrics, obstetrics, medical‑surgical, psych‑mental health, or geriatrics) for instruction.
- At least one year of instructional experience.
- Minimum one year of direct patient care.
- Current and unobstructed California RN license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification.
- Successful completion of CSU background check.
- Strong managerial, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Technological and computer skills sufficient to facilitate classroom and virtual learning activities.
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching methodology, curriculum development and evaluation.
- Ability to work with clinical partners and stakeholders for clinical placements.
- Instructional experience in simulation.
- Two years of teaching experience and at least one year of leadership with oversight of faculty or nurses.
- Current and unobstructed California RN license and BRN faculty approval in one of the approved areas.

Salary is based on qualifications and experience. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule; others are normally placed in Range
2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. Monthly base salaries are prorated based on units assigned and paid in six monthly payments per full semester.
- Teach didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical courses within the School of Nursing.
- Engage in research, creative activities, and service to the University.
- Participate in curriculum development and evaluation.
