Overview
Part-Time Lecturer(s) Pool in Social Work. The Department of Social Work invites applications for part-time instructors. The person(s) appointed will teach one or more graduate level courses in Social Work Practice or serve as faculty field liaison for Field Practicum courses. Beyond teaching, field liaisons act as a primary university representative in collaborations involving field instructors and students in practicum.
Field liaisons must visit assigned students and field instructors in agency settings, provide consultation and collaboration, review learning contracts, assist in evaluation of student performance, and facilitate integrative field seminars on a bi-weekly basis. Field liaisons are also expected to participate in student field orientations and field instructor training.
Responsibilities- Teach one or more graduate level courses in Social Work Practice.
- Serve as field liaison for Field Practicum courses, visiting students and field instructors, providing consultation and collaboration.
- Review students’ learning contracts and assist in evaluating student performance.
- Facilitate integrative field seminars bi-weekly.
- Participate in student field orientations and field instructor training.
- Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree.
- Minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
- Experience and demonstrated competence working with a diverse group of people.
- Flexibility and control over personal schedule; valid driver’s license and insurance required for field liaison assignments.
- Five years of post-MSW practice experience that includes supervisory responsibilities.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.

CompensationCommensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, an extremely competitive benefits package is offered. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule; others in Range
2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. Salaries are prorated based on units assigned and paid in six monthly payments per full semester. Salary ranges:
Range 2 and Range 3.
