Overview
Part-Time Lecturer(s) Pool in Theatre. The Theatre Department invites applications for a part-time lecturer pool to teach Theatre courses that serve the university's General Education goals, including:
Introduction to Theatre, Acting for Non-Majors, and Playgoing. Candidates should be prepared to document experience with students of diverse backgrounds and/or professional credits within the field demonstrating professional sensitivity to diversity and inclusion. Members of under-represented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
M.A. in Theatre with compelling evidence of impressive undergraduate teaching or strong professional experience. Demonstrated experience working with students of diverse backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMFA or PhD strongly preferred, along with evidence of impressive undergraduate teaching. Familiarity (and certification or training) with online curricular delivery systems is highly desired (including hybrid and fully online teaching modes).

COMPENSATIONCommensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range
2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. Salary rates for California State University Lecturers (Academic Year) can be found in the schedules linked below.

Housed in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). The Stan State Theatre Department is a small, collegial department of teacher-practitioners committed to diverse classroom and hands-on training for our majors, minors, and concentrations. The Department offers a general BA in Theatre with tracks in either Performance or Design and Technology.
