Job SummaryThe Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs moderately complex and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Drafts and sends communications on supervisor/departmental staff behalf. Reconciles P-Card/Concur for other staff/faculty against departmental budget. Performs some simple budget monitoring/entry. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
AdditionalDepartment Summary
Exercises discretion and judgement with limited oversight. Supports the Executive Director and other key individuals at ALRI to meet ALRI's educational, research and outreach activities and initiatives. Adheres to UA policies, schedules, and deadlines.
RequiredMinimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative experience; OR associate’s degree or higher.
Additional Required DepartmentMinimum Qualifications
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and KnowledgeExceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to submit routine accounting transactions and the ability to organize work and time in an efficient manner. Works effectively in a team environment. Ability to handle all administrative matters in an office environment.
Preferred QualificationsRelevant UA experience and advanced knowledge of UA administrative software applications such as Banner, Concur, Page Up, Touch Net, MyEverest, Alabama Research Management System, GATOPS, Fastlane, Cayuse.
