We’re looking for a Tax Controller to join our finance leadership team. This role will partner closely with the Head of Finance and Corporate Controller to oversee Tankr’s tax strategy, compliance, and reporting processes across all jurisdictions. It’s a hands‑on, senior‑level role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high‑growth environment — a place where you’ll be trusted to lead, improve, and build.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance and filings across Tankr’s multi‑jurisdictional footprint.
- Manage tax audits and coordinate with external advisors to ensure accuracy and optimization.
- Design and implement scalable tax processes, systems, and internal controls
. - Partner with the Corporate Controller to integrate tax planning into forecasting, budgeting, and cash management.
- Track regulatory changes and proactively adapt Tankr’s compliance posture.
- Cross‑train with the accounting team to ensure redundancy and shared knowledge across finance functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MST preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Proven success managing multi‑state or multi‑entity tax responsibilities
. - Strong grasp of GAAP, corporate tax provisions, and audit preparation.
- A process‑driven mindset with the ability to adapt and improve workflows.
