Role Description

The Digital Accessibility Analyst is a full-time, on-site role located in Tuscaloosa, AL. This position focuses on evaluating and improving the accessibility of digital content, websites, applications, and online learning materials to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting accessibility audits, documenting findings, collaborating with campus stakeholders to remediate issues, and advising on accessible design best practices.

The analyst supports digital accessibility needs by offering consultations and assisting teams in integrating accessibility requirements into development and content workflows. This role also monitors emerging accessibility standards and technologies to help maintain a compliant and inclusive digital environment across the university.

Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of digital accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG, Section 508, ADA as applied to digital environments).
  • Knowledge of UX and web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, document structure, and accessible design principles for web and digital content.
  • Ability to analyze complex accessibility issues, document findings clearly, and provide practical remediation recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with developers, content creators, instructional designers, and campus partners.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with higher education environments and learning technologies (e.g., LMS platforms, video content, digital documents) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and some digital accessibility experience
  • Commitment the creation of barrier-free digital experiences for individuals with diverse abilities.
