Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding duties using a wire welder and stick welder. Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions. Work includes set‑up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products. Works and assists in the fabrication or welding of multi‑component parts. Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job’s needs.
Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications. Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders. Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment; if any equipment needs repairs notify supervisor/lead or maintenance department. Willingness to cross‑train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

- Possess a suitable combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of this position
- Must have AWS D 1.1 certification
- A minimum of 5 years welding experience is preferred
- Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts
- Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders
- Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered forklift
- Have a demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting work orders and drawings
- Able to work independently or as a team player
- Able to take direction and communicate with others
- Have excellent time management skills, organized and detail oriented
- Employ a friendly, outgoing personality, respectful of co‑workers and ability to work with individuals to carry out goals of the organization

Perform work standing up in a work cell for 8–10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move material during the course of performing his/her job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
