Our Tuscaloosa, AL facility is looking for a Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing machine maintenance and repair for all plant equipment, following the direction of the Maintenance Manager and completing work orders efficiently. This is a Mon‑Fri day shift position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Follow safe work practices in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations and electrical code.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components on machines and support equipment.
  • Perform preventative, breakdown, predictive maintenance on all production equipment, utilities, building/grounds etc.
  • Occasionally work from elevated surfaces such as booms, scissor lifts and ladders.
  • Identify hazards and advise management of dangers associated with operating equipment in current condition.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.
  • Must be willing and able to be on a crew‑rotated on‑call schedule for nights and weekend coverage.
Job Skills
  • Strong electrical skills; must be able to read and understand electrical prints.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment including AC and DC motors, up to 480 V 3‑phase systems, motor‑controlled drive systems, tachometers, encoders, limit switches, relays, oven burner systems, position sensing devices, starters and contacts.
  • Proficient in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohms, tone generators etc.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code.
  • Cross‑reference electrical components for upgrades and to replace discontinued equipment across brands.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming abilities are a plus.
  • IT experience is a plus.
Good Mechanical Skills
  • Understanding mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use basic industrial shop equipment, hand tools, drills, saws etc.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and compressed air systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components such as bearings, cylinders, chains and couplings.
Required Experience
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • 5 years in industrial maintenance related field or military equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to learn and perform tasks in SAP.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
