The Sanitation Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all sanitation activities within the poultry processing plant to ensure compliance with company policies, USDA regulations, and food safety standards. This position leads the sanitation team, coordinates nightly cleaning operations, and ensures the facility is properly sanitized and ready for production each day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and direct all sanitation operations to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant processing environment.
• Responsible for supervision and development of all Sanitation Supervisors.
• Develop and implement sanitation schedules, cleaning procedures, and chemical usage guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Order chemicals and consistently update SDS information in accordance with Safety Program requirements.
• Enforce safety rules; identify and correct hazards. Hold safety meetings; train team members in safe job procedures. Investigate accidents and take corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
• Follow the written specifications for packaging and labeling of products.
• Be on call as required in case of emergency.
• Oversee special projects, start-ups, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform various special tasks as assigned by the Shift Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-3 years leadership and sanitation experience in poultry processing or related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize.
• Must demonstrate successful supervisory skills, writing skills, creative & effective problem-solving skills, and basic knowledge of computers & related software.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Working in a wet/damp environment and a normal room temperature environment.
• Standing/walking 100% of the workday.
• Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
