The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

The Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in batteries and energy storage.

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity and funding.

Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. • Experience with electrochemistry and materials synthesis.

• Strong analytical skills, including but not limited to XPS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, TEM.
• Experience with data visualization and analysis software.
