Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations. Multiple methods are used to identify these facilities. A technician will be dispatched to locate and verify for utility customers and can work independently or as part of a team under a supervisor.

• Locate underground facilities using transmitters and other equipment.
• Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions, including construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
• Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Complete all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating with customers, co‑employees, and third parties.
• Maintain a damage‑free environment by communicating with management, contractors, and utility customers.
• Use technology and tools required for the position.

• High School Diploma or equivalency (GED).
• State‑issued driver’s license.
• Ability to problem‑solve and read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
• Experience and superior ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

• 10‑hour shift;
  Monday to Friday.
• On‑call; weekends as needed.
