Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician / Mechanic II/III in the Tuscumbia, AL / North Alabama operations area, reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager.
Job Details- Wages start at $25/hr for entry level/limited experience. Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience.
- Full‑time, Permanent.
- Day Shift. Weekend work may be required.
- Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits.
- Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and asphalt equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues affecting major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drivetrain components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
- Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
- Familiarize with heavy equipment parts including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
- Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
- Operate mobile equipment and a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
- Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and ability to perform all duties under DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on‑road trucks.
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
- Preferred experience performing DOT Annual Inspections.
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70 lbs.
- Ability to climb and perform work at heights of up to 20 feet.
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
