Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the culture of a team that provides proper on time delivery of products to internal and external customers. The manager coordinates all Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Management operations in accordance with company objectives and customer requirements. The manager will be responsible for providing logistical support for warehouse functions through ensuring that shipping and receiving procedures are followed and that positive relations are managed with a diverse group of customers, vendors and internal contacts within the organization.

Leadership & Team Management:
Direct the Warehouse team in the preparation and implementation of operating plans, KPIs, and strategies consistent with the business plan. Evaluate and train warehouse staff by coaching and providing regular performance feedback; conducts performance appraisals, administers corrective action, training, and development on the job. Adjust warehouse staff schedules to meet customer order demand and manages and approves timecard of subordinates.

Mentor supervisors and department lead to maximize capabilities in leadership, operations, and continuous improvement.

Operations & Shipping/Receiving:
Validates necessary shipping paperwork for completeness and conformance in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists with accurately preparing Bill of Lading (BOL) paperwork for all shipments and prepares shipments for international shipping with customs paperwork completed with accuracy on time. Confirms that outbound orders are scheduled with carriers and transportation modes to haul and assists with contacting freight carriers to arrange for the pick-up of goods.

Manages warehouse space daily via the WMS to ensure FIFO methodology is followed with raw materials and finished goods.

Continuous Improvement & Quality:
Learn, teach and drive LEAN Manufacturing using the framework and daily coaching in Gemba, including Kanban systems. Use Visual Management to make problems obvious, identify actionable root causes, and develop corresponding action plans to reach desired operational performance. Understand and employ appropriate tools: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc. Implement quality assurance strategies to ensure deliveries that arrive at our customers' sites are correct, on time, and undamaged.

Financial & Inventory Management:
Establish and meet annual expense budget for warehouse operations. Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future business requirements including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital and expenditure programs. Responsible for weekly inventory counting and tracking of literature. Conducts weekly and monthly cycle counts for the facility ensuring all QA documents are created.

Identify causes of inventory inaccuracy and reduce them using a team root cause/countermeasure process.

Safety & Compliance:
Actively support safety initiatives including, safety observations, safety audits, 5S, risk assessment, as well as near miss and incident investigation and remediation. Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. Maintains clean and safe work area and equipment and follows all prescribed safety regulations. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.

What We're Looking For:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar shipping/warehouse setting. Required

Work Experience:

At least 5 years of Manufacturing or Warehouse experience AND At least 3 years Manufacturing or Warehouse experience in a mid-level leadership role AND Minimum of 2 years experience with DOT and IATA regulations for hazardous shipments. Skills & Certifications Lean Mfg certificate and/or 3 years CI experience preferred. Licensed forklift truck operator. Basic computer skills – Gmail, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Must be able to use a computer, shipping programs (UPS portal), and read and write English. Working Conditions &
