Middle School STEM Teacher

Summary Under direction, teach and instruct students in Middle School, Grades 7-8, or a combination of the same in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and other related skill areas; plan, develop, organize, and conduct a comprehensive STEAM education programs for middle school students; assist pupils, parents, and others in aiding pupils in adjusting to a structured STEAM based educational environment;

perform other related functions as required.

Perform a variety of complex and responsible duties in providing information and assistance to students, staff, parents, and the public by using RHLS systems and processes. Initiate, create, and maintain printed and electronic communication systems to support all RHLS activities (including social media) that are related to the STEAM classes and curriculum.

Education/

Experience:

Possession of a Baccalaureate or higher degree with emphasis in education or closely related field areas. Experience and training in STEAM/Science/Engineering preferred. Specialized training in STEM fields.

Certification Requirement Possession of a California credential authorizing service as a teacher of primary/elementary or high school grade students; or equivalent.

Experience:

Successful completion of student teaching at a recognized college or university or two years of regular full time classroom teaching experience, preferably including one year in a middle school setting teaching STEAM/Science/Engineering.
