Electronics Technician, Electronics Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Electronics Lab Technician to join our dynamic engineering team for a contractual opportunity onsite in Tustin, CA
. In this role, you will support electronic hardware development by building, testing, modifying, and troubleshooting a wide range of electronic assemblies and prototypes. Your expertise in soldering, wire harnessing, and interpreting technical diagrams will contribute directly to the success of our innovative projects.
Salary Range: $28 per hour - $35 per hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities- Support the receiving and shipping of packages related to electronics builds and projects.
- Manage and track material inventories; kit and prepare parts for assembly and rework.
- Perform PCBA modifications, including component soldering/de-soldering and blue wire modifications per IPC-610 Class 3 standards.
- Build and repair wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620C standards.
- Construct and set up custom test equipment based on engineering specifications and diagrams.
- Conduct functional tests of electronic circuit assemblies and engineering prototypes.
- Assemble ECU modules following engineering drawings and procedures.
- Accurately record test results and update testing procedures as required.
- Troubleshoot electronic circuits and assemblies to determine root causes of failures.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician in engineering labs or manufacturing environments.
- Associate degree in electronics technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical concepts.
- Proficient in soldering, including fine-pitch ICs and 0402 components.
- Skilled in the use of lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads (eloads).
- Experience building and modifying wire harnesses and electronic assemblies.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience with Jira, Python scripting, and electric vehicles is a plus.
- IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721, or J-STD-001 certifications are highly desirable.
